Mark your calendars!
A Utah book launch party, two Ohio book fairs, and a presentation on Substack
Four upcoming events that might interest you, depending on who you are:
If you’re a writer . . .
. . . I’m giving a virtual presentation next Tuesday, hosted by the nonprofit I used to work for, LDSPMA (Latter-day Saints in Publishing, Media & the Arts):
“Substack: What Is It? How Does It Work? And Should You Be On It?”
Tuesday, May 6, at 12–1 pm Mountain Time (2–3 pm Eastern Time)
Session description: Substack started in 2017 and has grown steadily since then, reaching 35 million monthly active users in January 2025. But what is Substack, exactly? Is it a newsletter software? A blogging site? A paid-subscriptions manager? A podcast hosting software? A social media platform? (Spoiler: It’s all five). What is its revenue model? (Spoiler: It doesn’t involve ads. Hurray!) And most importantly: Should YOU be using it? (Not-a-spoiler: It depends.)
The one-hour Zoom event will include time for Q&A and discussion.
If you live in Utah . . .
. . . You’re invited to my Utah launch party!
Utah Launch Party for The Pyromancer’s Scroll
Friday, July 11, 5:30–8:00 pm
Lindon Community Center, 25 N Main St, Lindon, Utah
Come celebrate my book and clean fantasy in general! We’ll have mancery-themed food, a map-drawing table, beanbag toss, a snippen scavenger hunt, a Mancery Mayhem gaming table, an epic music playlist, an author Q&A, and more. All ages welcome.
Official invite coming soon!
If you live in Central Ohio . . .
. . . Join me at two upcoming book fairs! Stop by my author table for some chocolate and a water break in between browsing all the other authors and books.
Both fairs are a short drive from Columbus and have free admission. (The books, of course, cost money.)
