I love this comment! I have long been aware that our thoughts and emotions send out vibrations that others can interpret, but being able to "smell" a person's intent is another matter. I also love the idea that resolve changes us! When we have a firm resolve, borne from powerful, emotional experiences, then we---like Durrin---can be unstoppable!

Durrin's greatest personal strength is his unrelenting drive. For much of the book up to this point, that drive has been subdued as he deals with conflicting priorities. But from hereon out, it's full throttle!

This particular line probably stemmed from the cliche, "Careful, [this animal] can smell fear."
